Our Travel Plan

We are going with you to an unrealistically beautiful country with unpredictable weather and landscapes that will take your breath away. Even the biggest lovers of sun and warmth will fall in love with it.

Iceland is the world’s largest island of volcanic origin, a country of ice and fire, romance and adventures. Home of Vikings. It’s there the Game of Thrones was filmed, and Walter Mitty escaped from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

We won’t live in tents, but in comfortable houses where you can relax and recharge after a long busy day. We will travel exclusively in 4×4 cars, which will take us to the most inaccessible places. It will be a real road trip, where we will discover new locations, get to know ourselves and enjoy every moment during trip. It’s a great feeling of freedom to be able to stop wherever you want during travels. Make top-photoshoots and shoot unreal road movies of your life. This trip, like all others – is perfectly planned. But we always leave a spare of freedom, a bit of unpredictability and adventure. We will visit the best and most top locations, as well as secret ones that few people know about.

Important

The route and program may change during the trip, depending on road or weather conditions and various circumstances that may arise during the trip.

Approximate itinerary of our adventure:

Day 1

On the first day, we meet at the airport of Katowice/Krakow before departure. If you will fly from a different airport/country then the meeting point will be at Keflavik Airport. After arrival, we gonna pick up our cars, stop by the store for groceries, and then drive to our house where we cook dinner and get to know each other.

Day 2

We will drive to explore the Golden Ring. Among the places, we gonna visit is Thingvellir National Park which is a unique place, where you can walk between two continents, the North American tectonic plate and the Eurasian plate. Bruarfoss Waterfall with its mega blue water and the extremely powerful Gulfoss and Iceland’s largest geyser. In the evening we will go hunting for the northern lights.

Day 3

We will continue exploring the south of Iceland, but we will leave our house and change our accommodation for the next night. We will drive to the world’s most famous basalt black beach, picturesque waterfalls, such as Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, and canyons. Later in the evening, we continue to hunt Northern Lights.

Day 4

Early wake up, breakfast, and let’s go to the largest glacier in Europe. On arrival we get the spikes and rest of the necessary equipment, take ice axes and go on a trek to explore glaciers and look for the ice caves. Our path will pass through the unexplored trails of the Vatnajokull Glacier — climb into one of the ice caves and watch the floating pieces of the glacier in the Iceberg Valley. After we gonna drive along East Iceland which is characterized by long and narrow fjords with steep mountainsides and rugged tundra. Each fjord has its own unique qualities, with small fishing villages in postcard-perfect settings and friendly locals. If we are lucky, we may get to see a reindeer or two as this is the part of the island they inhabit. The east is also great for northern light viewing.

Day 5

Today we have to drive up to the North and on our way, we gonna stop at the most beautiful places of the north which are reachable during winter. The night we gonna spend around Akureyri.

Day 6-7

During the next 2 days, we are going to the west fjords and Snæfellsnes peninsula with its cliffs, mountains, and beautiful lighthouses.

Day 8

Last day in beautiful Iceland. In the morning we will explore the northernmost capital of the world — Reykjavik. At the end of our trip, we will go to the famous Blue Lagoon for a few hours in a unique open-air thermal pool where we will rest and relax before our flight back home.

We will tell you about our adventure in more detail and will be happy to answer any questions.

How many people can join a tour?

We keep our group sizes low so you have the freedom to move around and get involved with your surroundings. This intimate size ensures that your group will not crowd your experience. You can expect up to 15 travelers on a trip but the average is 8-12.

What clothing should I pack for one of your adventures?

We always recommend packing as light as possible however the specific requirements for your tour will vary widely depending on where and when you are traveling.

What are the age restrictions on your tours?

On each of our adventures, we have participants of very different ages. The average age is about 25, but there are both 18-year-olds and people 50+. We believe that age is just a number, so regardless of your age, you can go on an expedition with us.

What type of accommodation is there during trips?

On all trips, we stay in cozy private houses, apartments, hotels, or villas. There is always the opportunity to cook dinner, have fun in the evenings with mountain views, and enjoy the fresh air. We live as close as possible to all locations.

What if my plans change and I can't go on a trip?

In case of cancellation:

If you cancel the trip for personal reasons, you can only get a refund in two cases:

1. Within 3 days, after making the deposit. This option applies if there are more than 60 days before the trip.

2. The participant is allowed to give up his/her spot/find someone else to replace him/her if his/her absence is confirmed, without any additional cost.

In any case please write an email to vabotrips@gmail.com.

*Personal relationships are very important to us, so if you are unable to join the trip, we will do everything in our power to find a replacement for you and thus minimize your losses.

For any questions or information, get in touch!

Can I get advice about how to get to the meeting point?

We are happy to see people from all over the world on our travels. Our team will always help you find the best way to get to the meeting point to join the trip.

Do i need to be very fit for the trip?

Most trips do not involve competitive sports. All you need is an average fitness and fitness level. If there is still some time before the trip, we will help you prepare accordingly. We advise both in terms of fitness and equipment preparation.
